Mrs. Huggins First Grade Class

Newsflash

Dear Parents,

I hope everyone is enjoying the Memorial Day weekend!  Hopefully, you are able to enjoy an extra day full of family fun, with time to relax as well :0)

As I look back over this fabulous year in First Grade, I am truly blown away by how much your child has grown and blossomed over the school year.  The students started the school year only writing a few words to.. writing several sentences at a time by the end of the school year.  As a group, they moved up several reading levels and solved countless math problems.  Mystery Science and Go Noodle were two of the most popular ways to spend those extra few minutes before the bell rang :0). They met new friends which have turned into (hopefully) long lasting friendships and most of all encouraged each other with kind words and actions throughout the year! This class is one of the best groups of kids I have seen that truly know how to take care of each other!! I want to send out a HUGE thank you to all parents (and your families) for your support this year!  Your love, care, patience, support, and encouragement have meant the world to your little ones and me :0). A BIG THANK YOU to Leslie Nash for all of your help as Room Parent. I know you spent a lot of time organizing details for our class! I really appreciate all your help to make this school year a success!! These last few days are always tough, as it is difficult to say good-bye :(  Although, I know in my heart all the children are prepared to move on to Second Grade and will continue to BE AMAZING and DO AMAZING things!!

Warmly,

Audrey Huggins

What's Happening In Our Classroom

  • REMINDER!  Please have your child wear PJ attire for our final class marble jar party tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon.  The children will be watching a G rated movie and will have a small snack.  Their choice will be popcorn or donut holes :0)
  • Surprise!  This week your child will be coming home with a Writing Book, including one writing project from each month of the school year!  Your child has worked so hard and is very excited to share all of his/her accomplishments in writing this year!
  • Last week, your child should have come home with a yellow paper explaining the Summer Library Reading Log program.  Mrs. Hayes our Librarian will collect these papers at the beginning of the new school year. Please let me know if you did not receive a Reading Log.
  • Our class party will be this Friday, May 31st at 10:15-11:15.   Please look for a Sign-Up Genius for details regarding the party.  Thank you Megan Gery for your help in organizing this party! Thank you, parents in advance for all the supplies donated and help with the End Of The Year Class Party :0)
  • This Friday, May 31is the last day of school as well as a minimum day. All students will attend school from 8:35-12:25.
